Surveying Technician I
Farnsworth Group, Inc. is hiring a Surveying Technician I, an entry‑level position based in Normal, IL, available for hiring until May 2026.

Job Activities- Assists in the preparation of surveying drawings.
- Prepares basic detailed drawings from field data and sketches using computer‑aided drafting software.
- Completes redlines, drawing modifications and basic calculations under specific instructions.
- Adheres to company and client standard CAD procedures for data processing, formatting, and producing drawings and sheet layouts.
- Maintains schedules and communicates progress daily.
- Undertakes company‑mandated trainings to increase skill and ability.
- Exercises limited judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables.
- Valid US driver’s license with a good driving record.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a mentor/mentee team environment.
- Ability to understand and operate current and new technology.
- Safety oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive and collaborative work ethic.
- Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel).
- 0–2 years of previous surveying experience.
- Basic understanding of land surveying and geometry.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD C3D, Micro Station ORD and/or ArcGIS software.
- CST1 (certified survey technician level
1) certification. - Interest in aerial drone and 3D point‑cloud scanning technology.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily an office position; may need to work outside on projects.
- Ability to work in various terrain and weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Ability to handle multiple multidisciplinary projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment.

$19–28 per hour (salary determined by education, experience, skills, and internal and external equity).
