Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Surveying Technician – Office (Micro Station ORD/AutoCAD C3D) in one of the posting locations below. In this role, you will (list a few highlights).

Posting Locations for this role: Peoria, Normal or Champaign, IL

Responsibilities
  • Work independently to obtain records & project information
  • Prepare complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensure drawings are accurate and complete
  • Adhere to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated
  • Exercise independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables
  • Communicate ideas for drawing execution, design and layout
  • Maintain schedules and communicate progress on a daily basis
  • Mentor less experienced surveying technicians and offer advice and knowledge
Qualifications Specific Requirements Include
  • 6+ years previous surveying experience
  • Valid US driver's license & good driving record
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee team atmosphere
  • Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology
  • Safety oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive and collaborative work ethic
  • Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel)
Desired Qualifications Include
  • 10+ years previous surveying experience
  • Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or Micro Station ORD
  • CST1 or CST2 or CST3 (certified survey technician level 1 or 2 or
    3) certification
  • Experience with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily an office position, ability to work outside on projects if needed
  • Ability to work in various terrain and weather conditions and recognize safety hazards
  • Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously
  • Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment
  • Makes suggestions and undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability
