The Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients, families, and staff according to ethical standards of practice for chaplains and counselors. Participates in on‑call rotation with other chaplains. Offers educational seminars when requested. Works collaboratively and as a liaison between the spiritual care department and assigned units, committees, and other Carle and non‑Carle businesses, organizations, and personnel.

Work Experience:

• Provide direct spiritual care to patients, staff and families.
• Clarify value issues with patients, families and staff to support ethical practices/decisions.
• Assist in coordination of spiritual care for assigned clinical units.
• Provide in‑service presentations and educational seminars on spirituality.
• Provide community presentations on spiritual care and spirituality.
• May occasionally oversee/mentor spiritual care students or volunteers.

The compensation range for this position is $24.32 per hour – $40.61 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
