Job SummaryProvide a basic level of emergency medical services for university sporting events, concerts, and other large gatherings. Depending on the event, Redbird EMS personnel either work independently or in teams.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate$17.00 per hour
Required Qualifications- Current State of Illinois EMT license
- Minimum six (6) months of medical experience which could include nursing, emergency medical/paramedic, or CNA experience.

Hours/schedule will vary depending on frequency of campus events; not to exceed 28 per week.
Functional Expectations- Ability to lift 100lbs.
- Ability to physically access, treat and move patients in Illinois State University facilities, including but not limited to venues with stairs, steep inclines, and uneven terrain.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire.
There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Applicable part-time work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however, it will be converted to a full-time equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
