• Design and deploy edge solutions:
  Design, implement, and maintain on‑premises edge infrastructure solutions, including servers, network devices, and storage, to support applications and services at the edge.
• Kubernetes administration:
  Manage and operate Kubernetes clusters, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Container orchestration:
  Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configuration management:
  Utilize configuration management tools like Ansible and Salt to automate server configuration and software deployment.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting:
  Implement monitoring solutions and troubleshoot infrastructure issues at the edge, including CICD pipeline best practices, tools like Gitlab CI, ArgoCD etc.
• Security:
  Implement and maintain security best practices for edge infrastructure.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with cloud infrastructure teams and development teams to ensure seamless integration between edge and cloud environments.

Experience
: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or related field, with at least 2+ years of hands‑on experience with on‑premises infrastructure and edge computing.

• Linux expertise:
  Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including system administration and networking.
• Kubernetes experience:
  Experience with Kubernetes, including cluster administration and deployment of containerized applications.
• Configuration management:
  Proficiency with at least one configuration management tool (e.g., Ansible, Salt).
• Containerization:
  Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
• Networking:
  Solid understanding of networking concepts.
• Security:
  Knowledge of security best practices for on‑premises infrastructure.
• Scripting:
  Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash). AWS Outposts experience is a plus.

This Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Edge) will be a key contributor in building and maintaining the edge infrastructure that supports Rivian Volkswagen Technologies' digital services.
