  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000 - $2050
Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (Oncology or Medical-Surgical nursing preferred)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient care skills
Oncology RN Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments, start IVs, insert NG tubes, change dressings, administer medications, and insert Foley catheters
  • Access and maintain Mediports throughout the shift
  • Assist with bedside bone marrow aspirations
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to oncology patients in the unit and throughout the hospital
  • Deliver outpatient oncology treatments when the Outpatient Cancer Center is closed
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing documentation
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized patient care plans
  • Offer emotional support to patients and families
  • Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing clinical hazards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members and participate in ongoing professional development
