Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN to join the Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) on night shifts, requiring IL RN licensure and EPIC charting experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) within an acute hospital setting
- Float to various inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Ortho, Cardiovascular Care, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab
- Manage care for a diverse patient population including acute and chronic cardiac, pulmonary, surgical, oncology, and behavioral health cases
- Night shift schedule: 7:00PM - 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Uses EPIC EMR for documentation
- Patient population includes those with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and mental health needs
- No local candidates accepted within 50 miles
- Provide direct nursing care, assessments, medication administration, IVs, and blood administration for a varied inpatient population
- Develop, implement, and modify patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Complete patient education and discharge instructions in coordination with patient families
- Participate in bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and updated patient communication boards
- Adhere to safety protocols such as fall and pressure ulcer prevention
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
- Returning contingent workers are required to have a 6-month break in service after 1 year assignment at this health system
- Active Illinois RN license or temporary IL RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum one year of recent hospital RN experience
- Experience with Level 1 Trauma and EPIC charting required
- College diploma in nursing
