Job Summary:
The Clinical Resource Unit (Float pool) is dedicated to providing exceptional care through a Nursing Professional Practice Model that emphasizes caring relationships with patients, families, community, and colleagues. Nurses in this unit deliver specialized medical and nursing care across various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab. The unit is fast-paced, dynamic, and utilizes the latest technology and equipment to treat a wide range of medical diagnoses, such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, strokes, cancer, and post-surgical care.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
- Experience managing care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans.
- Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
- Experience preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
- Competence in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
- Ability to document care accurately using EMR systems.
- Capability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers.
- Strong conflict management skills and professional communication with team members.
- Critical thinking skills to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
- Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
- Commitment to patient safety and adherence to safety standards, including fall precautions and pressure ulcer prevention.
- Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards.
- Skill in delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring follow-up.

- BLS (AHA).
