Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Normal, IL.
$5000.00 Sign on Bonus
You will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Internal engine repair experience.
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, CertificationsApprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred), Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, Locally valid driving permit (Preferred), This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
ExperienceIntermediate level knowledge, Internal Engine Repair;
Cummins experience Preferred.

Trade school or equivalent to position.
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
