Job SummaryThe Conference Assistants (CAs) will have significant responsibility in overall summer conference operations including but not limited to the following: front desk management, conference check‑in/check‑outs, building preparation, and emergency call response.
Interviews for this position will begin late January/early February 2026.
ResponsibilitiesStudent employees are eligible to participate in the University’s 403(b) Plan. More information can be found here.
Pay Rate$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications- Attend training in April
- Available to work from May 9th through August 10th
- Pre‑enrolled for fall semester classes or registered for summer classes.
- Prepared to work extra hours from, Friday, June 12th through Sunday, June 14th for Illinois Special Olympics and not to exceed 28 hours for the scheduled work week.
- Adhere to the established dress code
- Must be available to work evenings and weekend hours as assigned by supervisor.
- 2.4 cumulative grade point average at time of application.
- Completed at least 24 credit hours at time of appointment.
- Good disciplinary standing with the University.
- Have at least one semester of residence hall living experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service experience to all guests
- Ability to think critically on the job and problem‑solve as needed
- Ability to multitask and be flexible
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Attention to detail
- Have a positive attitude
- Able to work as part of a team
- Organizational and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and leadership skills
Monday through Sunday, between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. – as scheduled during building hours.
