The Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center is hiring student hourly employees to work in the center's congressional archives on the Norman campus. The employees will perform a variety of clerical and archives-related tasks. Duties include the following:
- Physical arrangement
- Scanning
- Describing archival documents
- Preservation activities
- Assisting researchers
- Computerized metadata entry
- Filing
- Running errands
- Shelving
- Other duties as assigned

Required Education
:
Must be currently enrolled in the Spring semester as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Must attach Spring 2026 class schedule.
Requirements
- Able to work 15-20 hours per week Monday through Friday
Advertised Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, stoop, bend, and move a minimum of 20 pounds
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions
- Able to handle occasional exposure to dust
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Operating machinery such as film scanners and computers
- Inspect materials and observe details in close range
- Communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Ascending or descending ladders while moving objects
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
Department Preferences
- Interest in politics and/or U.S. or Oklahoma history
- Interest in library/archives studies or audiovisual communication/journalism studies
- Office clerical or library assistant experience, including computer experience
