Job Description

OU IT is currently hiring the position of Artificial Intelligence Specialist. This position provides AI expertise to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) researchers. Students in this role will help Oklahoma’s STEM researchers adopt AI into their research and/or improve the AI that they’re already using. They will also participate in developing and presenting training, both on the use of AI and on a national AI Consultant workforce/professional development program.

Most shifts will take place between 8 am–5 pm CST, Monday through Friday. Some weekend shifts may be required. For this position, required training will occur on the job as part of this position’s duties, potentially including job shadowing. Regular attendance at research computing team meetings will be required, in person and/or via videoconferencing. Due to the amount of time and effort that must be devoted to on‑boarding new employees, this position is not recommended for applicants who intend to work in the role for fewer than two academic semesters.
