The student employee will assist staff/faculty in supervision and training of the OU Nightly production crews. The student will perform as OU Nightly Director, Assistant Director, Technical Director, Crew Chief, Audio, Graphics, Floor Director, or Master Control Operator as needed. The student may also assist with studio lighting tasks and live shot station setup or coordination related to the production of the OU Nightly.

The student will also assist staff/faculty in training students in field production and post-production. OU Nightly is a student-produced television newscast that is live streamed on social media and airs live on OUTV. Other related duties as assigned.

  Class Schedule

• Required Education
  :
  Must be currently enrolled in the Spring Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
• Must attach Spring 2026 class schedule
• Completion of JMC 3011 (OU Nightly section, Sooner Sports Pad section, or Gameday U section) or volunteer experience on the TV News Crew, TV Sports Crew, or Gameday U Crew for at least one semester
• Effective communication skills – Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• Must be able to work on the lighting grid using a high ceiling ladder
• None
• Student classification of freshman, sophomore, junior, or non‑graduating senior
• Journalism or Creative Media Production major, enrolled full‑time and in good standing
