The University of Oklahoma has an opening for a student assistant on the Social Media team within the OU Marketing and Communications office. This position will support the marketing communications team by assisting with ongoing projects and activities that include social media content creation, short-form video editing, event coverage, and community engagement. You'll gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced university marketing environment.

• Assist with the creation of engaging social media content across platforms like Facebook, Linked In, X, Instagram, and Instagram Reels, understanding platform‑specific best practices
• Create compelling short‑form videos for both internal and external use
• Provide live social media coverage at various OU events, which may include nights and weekends
• Present and pitch innovative new ideas and concepts to the social media team

Must be currently enrolled in the Spring Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

• Must attach Spring 2026 oZONE class schedule

• Proficiency with major social media platforms and an understanding of content best practices for each
• Experience with design programs such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast‑paced team environment
• Maintain an approachable persona, along with organized and respectful communication with all other departments
• Ability to provide a portfolio or work samples demonstrating social media content creation and/or video editing skills

• Strong social media background
• Comfortable shooting, editing, and sometimes starring in short‑form video content
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Lightroom and Photoshop
• Junior or higher level in the Spring 2026 semester
• Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or similar major
