Architect II
System One is partnering with an architectural firm based in OKC in search for a Project Architect II who plays a key role in leading the coordination and technical execution of architectural projects. This licensed position requires solid experience managing day-to-day project workflows, guiding internal teams and consultants, and ensuring that design intent is upheld through all phases. The role involves leading smaller projects independently or serving as a primary technical resource on larger, more complex efforts under the direction of a Senior Project Architect and with support from Project Managers.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver, strong communicator, and emerging leader who is ready to mentor junior staff and grow toward a Senior Project Architect role.
- Lead daily coordination and technical execution of projects from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.
- Manage and coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain design intent, quality, and alignment with project goals.
- Develop and refine design and technical documentation, including drawings, details, and specifications.
- Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and team members regarding project status, technical issues, and design decisions.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining project schedules, scopes of work, and relevant documentation.
- Oversee and review construction documents prepared by junior staff, providing guidance, redlines, and mentorship.
- Conduct code research, evaluate technical solutions, and help resolve design and coordination challenges.
- Lead or support construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, performing site visits, and preparing punch lists.
- Participate in client and project meetings, presenting design and technical information as needed.
- Uphold firm-wide standards for design quality, documentation, and client service.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Active architectural license in Oklahoma or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Approximately 5–8 years of professional architectural experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical coordination and documentation for small to mid‑size projects and supporting larger, more complex efforts.
- Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD and visualization tools such as Sketch Up, Lumion, or Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Strong understanding of building systems, detailing, codes, and construction administration.
- Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines, manage deadlines, and organize project workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Ambition to advance into a Senior Project Architect role with increased leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
- Background in educational or public‑sector project types.
- Familiarity with project management or construction administration platforms (e.g., Pro Core).
- LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design principles.
