MOLDING TECHNICIAN (SECOND SHIFT) (1107166)
Location: Norman, OK
Salary: $27.00 - $30.00 USD hourly
Shift: 2nd Shift, 7 PM to 7 AM (2-2-3 schedule)
Responsibilities- Lead by example and maintain professionalism while supporting company values and expectations.
- Set up injection molding machines, including material and color changes, to meet production schedules.
- Maintain a strong technical understanding of molding processes and raw materials.
- Communicate equipment or process issues to supervisors and management promptly.
- Start up machines, ensure quality at startup, and monitor production throughout the shift.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain efficiency, quality, and throughput, documenting all changes.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet required dimensions and standards.
- Review daily production schedules and ensure machines are operating to meet customer demand.
- Respond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, or operator requests to resolve production or machine issues.
- Follow proper Lockout/Tagout procedures when working on equipment.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams regarding machine performance and troubleshooting.
- Inspect scrap to prevent usable product from being discarded and accurately record scrap numbers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to complete forms and computer-based documentation.
- Prior plastic injection molding experience highly preferred.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime when required.
- Technical understanding of injection‑molding processes or ability to learn quickly.
- Able to stand for long periods and perform tasks requiring good hand–eye coordination.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and handle tools/equipment.
- Regular exposure to production environments; must use appropriate PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap, hearing protection, etc.).
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Vision requirements include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross‑functional team.
