Position: Development Coordinator (part-time)

Position Summary

The Development Coordinator is an integral part of our administrative team and is responsible for the coordination of various development and outreach activities of Healthy Living Norman under the guidance of the Executive Director. In support of our mission, the Development Coordinator will plan and execute community and fundraising events, donor and sponsor recruitment, donor relation campaigns, donor and community engagement initiatives, grant applications, and other tasks as assigned.

This person is an engaging, creative, compassionate professional with experience in event planning and stewarding relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director to set community engagement, partnership development, and fundraising goals
  • Works with staff and volunteers to plan and execute community and fundraising events and campaigns
  • Researches, identifies, and pursues new funding and partner opportunities
  • Develops creative ways to appreciate and engage current donors
  • Meets with potential funders and attends other community events as assigned to present the Healthy Living Norman mission and funding needs and advocate for sponsor ships

Healthy Living Norman exists to promote the health and well-being of adults ages 50 and older by providing opportunities for physical activity, social engagement, and lifelong learning at Norman’s Adult Wellness & Education Center.

Established in 2023, we are a growing, not-for-profit organization making strides in supporting healthy aging in our community with programming focused on the Six Dimensions of Wellness: physical, social, intellectual, emotional, occupational, and spiritual.

We are a team of passionate, caring, and fun professionals who are all dedicated to the health and well-being of older adults and each other.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a nonprofit, marketing, communications, or partnership development field preferred
  • Minimum of three years’ experience planning successful event planning
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector (older adult/senior market a plus)
  • Successful track record in fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives
  • Strong writing and messaging skills and experience
  • Grant writing experience with a successful track record in grant awards
  • Comfortability and experience with public speaking
  • Experience and skills in relationship development
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges of older adults strongly preferred
