Temporary Laborer - Water Reclamation
City of Norman is seeking a motivated individual to perform general building, grounds, and basic maintenance work in a temporary capacity.
Minimum Qualifications- Education and Experience:
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. - Licenses:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record. - Skills:
Ability to perform general building, grounds, and basic maintenance work; work outdoors in extreme heat; follow oral and written instructions; safely operate city equipment; work independently with minimal direct oversight; maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- Perform groundskeeping and building and equipment maintenance work with emphasis on mowing and painting.
- Operate city equipment, including riding and push mowers.
- Responsibilities may vary, but will primarily involve painting, building maintenance, and mowing.
Must have strength to pull, lift, and push 50-pound objects frequently and up to 75 pounds infrequently; flexibility to bend, twist, and reach; mobility to climb, crawl, and walk; dexterity to operate machinery and tools on uneven surfaces; and stamina to exert effort throughout the day in all weather conditions.
Working ConditionsPosition may include any or all of the following: work performed in inclement weather; work in confined areas, on slick and wet surfaces; exposure to vibrations, loud continuous noise, offensive smells, dust, dirt, and water; exposure to injury from moving equipment, insect bites, poisonous plants, flying objects, slippery surfaces, hazardous material.

This job classification is a safety-sensitive classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S. 427.1 et seq., effective August 29, 2019. Employees in this classification may be subject to disciplinary action up to termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
