Line Cook - Athletics (Wagner Dining) at Headington Hall, University of Oklahoma. Located on the corner of Lindsey and Jenkins, Headington Hall is a premier college housing facility serving a community of student athletes and others. The University of Oklahoma is seeking Line Cooks to prepare, produce, and/or serve food items within the dining hall.

Schedule: Full-time.
Work Schedule:
Most often Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m., with occasional nights or weekends, communicated in advance. Work Type:
Onsite. Salary Range:
Targeted salary $13.00/hr, based on experience. Benefits Provided:

- Prepares, seasons, cooks, fires and bakes food according to standard recipes following portion control standards. Modifies recipes and/or production amounts.
- Ensures optimal quality of food throughout preparation and service.
- Prepares food items for individual serving following portion control standards.
- Determines food quantities, prepares estimates of time, labor and materials for assigned tasks.
- Oversees maintenance of inventory, food consumption and other food service records.
- Operates a variety of manual and/or automatic kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, mixers, slicers, etc.
- Handles operational readiness and safety of equipment and supplies.
- Adheres to university and Health Department quality standards.
- Advises supervisor concerning quantity and quality of food and supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / RequirementsRequired Education/
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Skills:
- Safe and sanitary handling of food, utensils, and equipment; ability to operate walk-in refrigeration, dishwashers, time clocks, cash registers, etc.
- Basic arithmetic for counting change, inventory, portions, and timekeeping.
- Ability to read and interpret routine written materials, menus, instructions, and emails.
- Effective communication in English, both spoken and written.
- Understanding of Housing and Food Services core values; basic nutrition and portion control awareness.
- Ability to clock in/out using time systems; adaptable to varying workloads and deadlines.
- Basic math and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older; must submit to a background check.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs; standing for long periods; exposure to varying temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to climb stairs as required by assignment; may be required to work during University closings as essential personnel.
Supervision: Position receives general supervision from supervisor.
Certifications: Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certification required upon employment.
Special InstructionsIf selected as a final candidate, you will be subject to The University of Oklahoma Norman Campus Tuberculosis Testing policy. Hepatitis A vaccine or annual testing may be required.
