Overview
Cashier role at The Home Depot. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
Responsibilities- Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers.
- Process Checkout and/or Return transactions.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
- Seek product knowledge to provide information to customers and identify selling opportunities.
- Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
- Assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and utilize available tools to coach and develop Cashiers.
- Escalate customer issues at the first level when needed.
- Support price checks, approvals for Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services and Tool Rental (as applicable).
- Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
