Schedule

• Part‑time, Position available from January 2026 through June 2026.
• Hours vary according to student class schedule, but must commit to at least 3 days per week. Preferably during lunch time Monday – Friday 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and/or after school hours 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
• Work Type:

• Salary: $12.00 per hour (targeted, based on experience)

Job Description

This is a Federal Work Study Only position at The Beacon Project of Norman, Inc. in Norman, OK.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and engaging visitors.
• Logging and storing donations.
• Stocking, organizing, inventory, counting, packing boxed foods; lifting heavy boxes; breaking down boxes.
• Sweeping, mopping, cleaning the bathroom, taking out trash.
• Light computer work and filing.
• Assisting Pantry Coordinator, Board, and Team Members.
• Maintaining the online inventory system.
• Packing food boxes, breaking down boxes.
• Lifting heavy boxes (30 lbs).

Discretion & Confidentiality

• Strict privacy policy due to minors as clientele; selfies, videos, etc. are not allowed.
• Candidate must sign a confidentiality agreement.

Required Education

• Must be currently enrolled in the Spring semester of 2026 as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status and work‑study status.

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Organized, friendly, and positive attitude.
• Casual, neat appearance. Avoid revealing clothing or offensive patterns. Torso must be covered.
• Closed‑toed shoes required.
• No smoking/vaping/drinking/drugs/weapons on or near premises.
• Familiar with basic office equipment.
• Bilingual – Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Standard office environment.
• Must be able to lift boxes, cans, etc. (30 lbs).

Certifications

• FERPA Training.

Department Preferences

• Interest in social work and non‑profits.
