Recreation Center Specialist – Irving, Whittier, and 12th Ave Rec Centers

This job classification is designated as a safety‑sensitive position in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. Employees in this classification may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
Education& Experience
- Applicant must have experience working with children.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Recreation activities and programs.
- Oral communication.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous to fellow employees and participants while performing duties.
Responsible for working in a program for youths ages six (6) to ten (10) in an after‑school setting. Organizes sports activities, recreational games, and craft classes. Performs other related duties as required.
Mental and Physical Abilities- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 50% of the work day.
- Ability to lift and carry light supplies (up to 25 lbs.) frequently.
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy supplies (25‑50 lbs.) occasionally.
- Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
Works in a recreation center environment; time may be spent outside, exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.
Additional InformationSelected applicant must pass background investigation, physical examination, and drug screen.
