Sports Official, Norman YMCA

Position Description

Officiate the Y Sports under the principles of Character Development and the guidelines and curriculum produced for the program. To help ensure a quality program by monitoring and maintaining facilities and equipment used by the YMCA to carry out the program at the highest level possible. Must act as an extension of the Program Director in charge of sports by addressing any questions and concerns brought by coaches or program participants.

Responsibilities include:

• Officiate the Y Sports under the principles of Character Development and the guidelines and curriculum produced for the program.
• To help ensure a quality program by monitoring and maintaining facilities and equipment used by the YMCA to carry out the program at the highest level possible.
• Must act as an extension of the Program Director in charge of sports by addressing any questions and concerns brought by coaches or program participants.

Starting at $10.00 per hour

Requirements

• Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must complete officials training.
• Must complete all required Trainings within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
• Incumbent must have working knowledge of the sport to be supervised with an understanding of the Y mission in sports and how that mission is carried out using the Y’s Core Values.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Incumbent must have the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, lifting up to 75 lbs.
