Product Buyer

We are looking for a commercially driven Buyer to join our growing Buying team based in Normanton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement or buying professional who thrives on building supplier relationships, identifying market opportunities, and delivering profitable product ranges. As a Buyer, you will take ownership of a product portfolio, managing supplier performance, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring the right products are available to meet customer demand.

You will work closely with Product Management, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations to drive sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role will involve occasional UK and international travel to meet suppliers, attend trade events, and support business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Manage supplier relationships to deliver the best commercial outcomes. Negotiate pricing, terms, rebates, and commercial agreements. Develop and maintain profitable product ranges that meet customer requirements. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to identify opportunities. Work closely with suppliers to improve product availability, quality, and service levels. Monitor sales performance, margins, and stock levels to maximise profitability.

Collaborate with Product Management, Procurement, Marketing, and Operations teams. Support new product introductions and range development initiatives. Ensure all products meet legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Contribute to responsible procurement and sustainability objectives. Produce commercial reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior stakeholders. Manage multiple projects and product initiatives through to completion. What We're Looking For Previous buying, procurement, category management, or product management experience.

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Commercially astute with excellent analytical abilities. Experience managing product ranges and delivering profitable growth. Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

Experience with in business supplies, wholesale, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment. Knowledge of sourcing, supply chains, and product compliance requirements.
