Norristown State Hospital is looking for a Barber 1 who wants to help patients look and feel their best. This position supports patient health and hygiene by providing essential barbering services within the hospital. The work helps maintain cleanliness, comfort, and well-being for individuals receiving treatment. As a Barber 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Hair And Scalp Care:Assess hair and scalp conditions, recommend needs to nursing staff, and provide grooming services such as shampooing, cutting, shaping, and trimming
• Record Keeping:Maintain daily service logs and compile monthly statistical reports for all hospital units
• Sanitation Standards:Sterilize tools, follow regulations, and keep equipment in proper working condition
• Scheduling Support:Coordinate appointments, post schedules, and encourage patients to participate in grooming care
• Safety And Compliance:Report concerning scalp conditions, follow hospital policies, and ensure secure handling of tools and supplies
• Patient Interaction:Work with empathy while assisting patients who may be uncooperative or have physical or mental challenges

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch, may change based on operational needs.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

• Possession of a license as a Barber as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Barbers Examiners.

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical exam and a drug screening.
