Job Title: MRI Tech
Facility: North Adams Regional Hospital
Shift: Evenings, 16-hour evening shifts (32 hours guaranteed)
Start Date: October 20, 2025
Assignment Length: Approximately 13 weeks (until January 19, 2026)

Certification and License Requirements:
State Licensure:
Valid and active MRI technologist license as required by the state of practice.
Certifications:

  • ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology or MRI specialization.
  • CPR Certification (current and maintains certification).

Job Description:
Join Berkshire Health System's dynamic imaging team as an MRI Tech at North Adams Regional Hospital. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality MRI services in a fast-paced hospital setting. The technician will be responsible for performing MRI scans with precision and care, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining patient comfort throughout the imaging process. The position requires working closely with fellow technologists and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care.

Flexibility with evening shifts and adherence to COVID-19 vaccination requirements are essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate GE HDXT 16.0 and 23.0 MRI imaging equipment.
  • Conduct MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with other technologists, including aides and fellow MRI Techs.
  • Follow departmental protocols, including patient identification and safety checks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed.
  • Support the department during after-hours coverage with third-party call-ins after midnight.
  • Ensure compliance with all COVID-19 vaccination policies, including mask mandates and vaccination documentation.
  • Adhere to time-off requests and site policies regarding leave and holiday coverage.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience as an MRI Technologist, preferably within a hospital environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRI protocols and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Flexibility to work evening shifts, with reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain a high standard of patient care.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT MRI Certification and valid state licensure.
  • Prior experience working with GE MRI systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and COVID-19 vaccination policies.

Additional Details:

  • COVID-19 vaccination (dose date on or after 10/3/23) is now mandatory for employment at this facility. Exemptions are available with proper documentation.
  • Travel residents within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible. Please include your current address during profile upload.
  • Maximum of 5 days of requested time off accepted; all requests must be communicated at the time of application.
  • Holiday coverage includes working at least two major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, with additional shifts as required.
  • Orientation is 8 hours and non-billable; expect holiday and overtime multipliers of 1.25x.
