Overview
A fast-paced footwear distribution company is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Operations Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day pick/pack and shipping operations for both direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce fulfillment. This role is a key leadership position responsible for managing inbound and outbound logistics (UPS, DHL), team leadership, and driving warehouse efficiency and accuracy.

ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Fulfillment Operations
- Lead and manage all aspects of pick, pack, and ship operations for footwear products.
- Oversee inbound receiving, inventory putaway, and outbound shipping to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with carriers including UPS and DHL to optimize daily shipping workflows and on-time delivery metrics.
- Ensure compliance with customer routing guides and shipping SLAs across D2C and B2B channels.
- Directly supervise a warehouse team including pickers, packers, and shipping/receiving staff.
- Provide clear direction, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a safety-first, quality-driven, and team-oriented culture on the warehouse floor.
Process Improvement & KPIs
- Monitor and optimize operational KPIs (order accuracy, pick rate, shipment on-time %, etc.).
- Implement lean practices to reduce errors, minimize waste, and improve throughput.
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and systems integration (e.g., WMS, e-commerce platforms).
Inventory & Systems
- Work closely with inventory control to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data integrity in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and coordinate cycle counts or adjustments as needed.
Customer-Focused Execution
- Partner with customer service and sales to resolve fulfillment issues or special order handling.
- Ensure high standards of packaging, labeling, and presentation in line with brand requirements.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of warehouse or fulfillment center management experience, preferably in footwear
, apparel
, or consumer goods
. - Strong background in e-commerce operations
, including both D2C and B2B fulfillment. - Experience working with UPS
, DHL
, and other small parcel carriers. - Demonstrated success leading teams in a hands-on
, fast-paced environment. - Proficiency with WMS systems, barcode scanning, and inventory systems.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- On-site, active warehouse role requiring physical presence and leadership on the floor.
- Must be comfortable walking, standing, lifting, and engaging in daily operations.
