Role SummaryThe Electrical Construction Management Trainee will learn branch operations through a series of work-related assignments beginning at an entry level position. Trainees will gain practical hands‑on field experience while learning Carolina Power’s mission, vision, culture, and values. Upon successful completion of all workplace assignments, the trainee will be permanently assigned to one of the four Carolina Power Offices in South Carolina.
EssentialFunctions
Selectees must behave consistently with Carolina Power’s Mission and Vision and focus on safety, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Trainees will gain knowledge of all aspects of branch management operations including but not limited to worksite safety, waste elimination, estimating, bidding, leadership, sales, material handling, order processing, and provide an outstanding level of customer service. Reliable and regular attendance is required.
IncumbentMust Possess
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Integrity – Non‑negotiable
- Desire to learn and to be a strong team member
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Office and the Web
- A willingness to travel when necessary and work in outdoor environments
- A strong desire to be part of a dynamic and Servant Leadership‑based company
Related construction experience may substitute for college education.
QualificationsPhysical Requirements
- Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves moderate manual labor.
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces.
- Ability to wear respirators in environments that contain silica dust and other hazardous materials.
- Ability to maintain workloads that may include interstate and intrastate travel and daily time frames that could exceed typical business hours.
