Retail Merchandiser

We are looking for a creative, energetic, and positive Retail Boutique Merchandiser who has a great eye for style and enjoys making a store look amazing. This position is responsible for creating attractive, inviting merchandise displays throughout our store, including clothing and apparel, gifts, home décor, seasonal merchandise, and extensive Christmas décor. We are looking for someone who sees merchandising as more than simply putting products on shelves.

The right person understands how color, placement, layering, texture, signage, and product groupings work together to create displays that catch a customer's attention and make them want to shop.

We are especially interested in someone who has a natural eye for decorating and merchandising. You may have previous experience in a boutique, gift shop, home décor store, clothing retailer, garden center, department store, or another visually driven retail environment. The ideal candidate:
Has a strong sense of color, balance, style, and visual presentation. Enjoys decorating and creating displays. Can confidently merchandise both fashion and home décor. Loves Christmas and is comfortable creating detailed holiday displays. Notices when something doesn't look right—and takes the initiative to fix it. Is creative but also understands that displays need to sell merchandise, not simply look pretty.

Is organized and able to manage multiple projects  comfortable moving merchandise and changing displays frequently. Takes ownership of their area without needing to be constantly directed. A Positive Attitude Is Important We want someone who brings positive energy to work. Retail can be busy and priorities can change quickly, so we're looking for a person who approaches challenges with a good attitude and looks for solutions rather than focusing on problems.

The right person is:
Friendly and approachable. Enthusiastic and energetic. Flexible when plans or priorities change. Willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Comfortable receiving feedback and trying new ideas. A team player who contributes to a positive work environment. Someone who takes pride in both their work and the appearance of the store.

This is a hands-on merchandising position and requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and reach, move racks and displays, climb a step ladder when appropriate, and lift and carry merchandise, boxes, and décor. During seasonal transitions—particularly Christmas—this position may involve significant unpacking, decorating, rearranging, and moving merchandise throughout the store.

A successful merchandiser walks through the store and constantly thinks: "How can I make this look better?" They notice an empty table before someone asks them to fill it. They see products that aren't selling and think of a better way to display them. They can take a collection of clothing, home décor, or Christmas merchandise and turn it into a display that makes customers stop, look, and buy.

Most importantly, they bring creativity, initiative, and a positive outlook to the store every day.
