DoD SkillBridge Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician

This position is open to active-duty service members eligible for the DoD Skill Bridge internship, within the last 12 months of active service. It is an unpaid, non-benefit internship in partnership with the DoD Skill Bridge program.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete repairs on diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document all repair activities accurately.
• Handle road service calls and perform road rescue as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage inventory and keep proper records.
• Support other maintenance personnel as needed and assume increased responsibilities and certifications over time.

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 2 years with relevant certifications.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with ability to read technical manuals.
• Must furnish personal hand tools.
• CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
• Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software related to maintenance.
