Route Driver

Spee Dee Delivery Service is a family‑owned and operated company founded in 1978. The company specializes in standard, next‑day, ground delivery and has headquarters and main sort facility in St. Cloud, MN. With over 1,800 employees, the company has expanded throughout the Midwest.

The Route Driver represents the company while making deliveries and picking up freight.

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – completion of route
• 10–15 hours of overtime may be expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $20.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience

• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Possess good customer service skills and can work independently

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record that meets company standards

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to, hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
