The TM Receiver maintains inventory accuracy to keep inventory shortages at or below store goals and maximizes store sales by receiving and shipping freight timely. They interact with customers and Team Members, support selling initiatives, and deliver a Legendary Customer Experience while promoting a safe, productive work environment and adhering to safety training and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.

- The TM Receiver is required to perform a combination of the following duties during 95% of their day:
- Accountable for processing of inbound and outbound freight.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.
- Recovery of merchandise.
- Participate in mandatory freight process.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Maintain, recover, stock, and tag assigned work areas including all merchandise displayed outside of the store.
- Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures as established by Tractor Supply Company.
- Ensure the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
- Rotation and disposition of dated products.
- Assemble merchandise.
- Operate Forklift.
- Operate Cardboard Baler.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of birds; sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.
- Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties.
- Obtain license or certifications as needed by the business.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience:
Shipping/receiving experience preferred; retail, farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred. - Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; regardless of education level, must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
- Basic computer skills/experience.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.); lighting and temperature adequate.
- Work shifts vary but are generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to company safety training and guidelines.
- Non-sedentary job requiring the physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
- Operate forklift and other equipment; access all locations of the store.
- Push/pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
- Occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead.
- Move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
- Frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Operate store equipment such as computer, cash register, and other store equipment.
- Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Process information/merchandise through point‑of‑sale system.
- Handle contact with birds/poultry.
- Complete required training and certification, including propane dispensing if applicable.
- Travel as required to support district needs.
