PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT UROLOGY SURGERY at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute

Job Overview: The Urology Surgery Physician Assistant assists, monitors, and manages the day‑to‑day needs of patients under the supervision of a physician and assists surgeons in the operating room. The PA provides comprehensive care, including history, physicals, ordering and interpreting tests, and prescribing medication in accordance with NJ regulations.
Responsibilities- Provide medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Perform and document accurate, complete history and physical assessments.
- Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians.
- Manage general medical and surgical conditions based on evidence‑based medicine.
- Prescribe medication safely and effectively per hospital policy and NJ regulations.
- Assist surgeons during operations and surgical procedures.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care through daily rounds and clear communication.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and families.
- Graduated from an AMA‑accredited physician assistant program.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in New Jersey.
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Minimum annual rate: $
