Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) seeks a Physician Advisor to join the Care Management team. The role focuses on strategic utilization, compliance, and clinical excellence within the organization.

• Dynamic collaboration with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary staff.

• Opportunity to teach, consult, and advise care‑management and utilization‑review departments.
• Engage in care‑management protocol development to optimize hospital services.
• Specialized expertise in physician practice patterns, utilization, documentation, and payer compliance.

• Lead and mentor the Care Management team to optimize resource utilization and patient care.
• Ensure compliance with payer regulations and medical necessity criteria (e.g., MCG, Inter Qual).
• Conduct utilization reviews and manage denials/appeals.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to promote appropriate utilization of hospital services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and utilization committees.
• Educate medical staff on utilization guidelines and documentation best practices.

• Unrestricted medical license in the State of New Jersey.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Proven ability to drive results and produce outcomes.
• Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) preferred.
• Membership in the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) encouraged.

Minimum starting base salary is $216,675 annually. This figure reflects a reasonable good‑faith estimate under the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and is not a guaranteed offer. Total compensation will be discussed throughout the interview process.
