Are you passionate about environmental stewardship? As the Environmental Manager, you will develop, implement and monitor project site environmental conditions to comply with environmental agency regulations and mitigate potential environmental liabilities.

You will be joining one of the region’s most transformative infrastructure projects. You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in the Palisades Tunnel Project, part of the landmark $16 billion Hudson Tunnel Project connecting New Jersey and New York. Working alongside leading construction partners, you’ll contribute to the delivery of twin rail tunnels beneath the Hudson River using state-of-the-art tunnel boring technology.

This is a high-profile, technically complex project that will strengthen a critical transportation link between New Jersey and Manhattan for generations to come.

• Develops and monitors environmental procedures on construction sites. Implements and trains project work crews and management teams regarding potential environmental issues and procedures
• Compile monthly environmental and sustainability reports.
• Lead environmental and sustainability meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Apply knowledge of asbestos and lead surveys and abatement methods.
• Manage environmental subcontractors and oversee soil and rock sampling, drilling, and reporting.
• Oversee SWPPP field inspections and compile weekly reports.
• Perform air-monitoring calculations for shafts and tunnels.
• Prepare and download daily perimeter air-monitoring reports and recommend corrective actions for recorded exceedances.
• Schedule daily trucking and secure disposal permits through environmental review and approve invoices.
• Apply the Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Framework to support achievement of a Platinum rating.
• Administer the NJDEP Palisades Tunnel website and submit monthly and quarterly groundwater discharge reports in accordance with the NJDEP discharge permit.
• Advise the Safety Department on silica and naturally occurring asbestos testing in tunnels to support OSHA and waste-disposal compliance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field required.
• 5+ years environmental regulatory and compliance experience in the construction industry required.
• Construction industry experience required; candidates may come from environmental consulting firms, environmental services companies, or general contractors.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• 30-Hour OSHA Construction certification required.
• Experience working with local agencies and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Environmental or consulting background preferred, particularly with hands‑on construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with Superintendents, construction teams, owners, and project representatives.
• Expert knowledge of compliance with environmental regulations and new legislation.
• Proven technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
