Synergy Spine Care & Rehabilitation Medicine, P.C. is a physiatrist‑owned professional corporation which provides evaluations and treatments for spine, sports, musculoskeletal, disabling, and other painful conditions. Patients include people with everyday aches and pains, athletes, and car and work accident victims. Everyone we see is unique, and we take the time to listen and develop a proper diagnosis.
The assistant will be under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and work alongside doctors in neurology, orthopedics, and pain management. The assistant will assist patients in active and passive exercises, as well as complementary therapies. The individual should be motivated and interested in the field of physical rehabilitation.
Responsibilities- Provide quality care to patients by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
- Help patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises.
- Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities such as non‑manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily‑living activities, as well as using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches and canes.
- Administer physical therapy treatments by giving massages, initiating traction, electrical muscle stimulation, moist hot packs, ice, and ultrasound; direct treatments given by aides and assistants.
- Evaluate the effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress; recommend adjustments and modifications.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services by charting patient notes in E.H.R. system and/or written charts.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols.
- Experience working in an outpatient musculo‑skeletal practice preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients.
- Able to multi‑task.
- Strong customer service skills.
Monday–Thursday 8am–6:30pm or Monday–Friday 9am–5pm
Pay Rate$65,000 to $85,000 per year
