Nurse Professional Development Specialist​/Educator

The Nurse Professional Development Specialist (NPD) is a Registered Nurse/Educator with an Advanced Nursing Degree, responsible for creating educational programs and strategies that enhance nursing practice and support staff development. This role is ideal for those passionate about nursing education and professional growth.

• Pay: $133,120/year
• Location: North Bergen, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Full-time, Evening shift

• Create teaching/learning strategies that promote application of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to practice.
• Analyze competency assessment data to identify gaps in practice.
• Develop educational programs to achieve patient-oriented outcomes.
• Develop, review, and revise nursing procedures and competency performance checklists.
• Plan orientation and competency requirements based on future needs of staff.
• Manage practice gaps between academia and service.
• Apply change theory to support organizational innovation and change management.
• Encourage lifelong learning and facilitate achievement of personal and professional goals.
• Align activities with organizational goals and measure contributions to patient safety and satisfaction.
• Participate in unit-specific initiatives to improve patient care outcomes.

• Graduate Degree (Master's or greater) in Nursing or related field
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing if the graduate degree is in a related field

• Minimum of 3 or more years of current experience in Nursing in an acute care hospital

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS preferred
