• Make continuous patrols throughout the medical center to observe and take corrective action regarding violations and detrimental conditions related to security and safety.
• Respond promptly to calls and codes for security assistance, including emergent and non‑emergent situations.
• Provide continuous coverage, controlling access and assisting patients, visitors, and staff as required.
• Maintain and control access to all facilities owned or operated by Hackensack Meridian Health.
• Enforce parking regulations and facilitate safe flow through campus parking lots.
• Conduct investigations of unusual occurrences, interview witnesses, and gather accurate information.
• Participate in fire drills and perform fire watches; facilitate inspections by the regional safety function.
• Provide escorts to team members and visitor vehicles as requested.
• Report for duty in clean, complete uniform with photo  and security badge.
• Inspect outer buildings, grounds, and parking lots for fire and life‑safety hazards.
• Inspect packages leaving the medical center when required.
• Prepare and submit computerized security incident reports before shift end.
• Complete daily activity logs at the end of each tour of duty.
• Maintain departmental security equipment in good condition; report damage immediately.
• Keep Security Leaders informed of all safety and security matters.
• Adhere to all Code of Conduct regulations and departmental procedures.
• Complete all in‑service training, lectures, and programs as assigned.
• Attend all mandatory meetings (departmental or special).
• Work in all areas of the medical center regardless of weather conditions.
• Execute physical security components of the emergency management plan when required.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

• 2 or more college credit hours.
• Previous experience as a Security Officer or in Law Enforcement.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Full‑scale State, County, Federal, and License Check conducted every other year.

Starting at $21.41 hourly.
