Cover Supervisor

This cover supervisor post at Outwood Academy Haydock, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, covers classes when teachers are absent for short periods. The work is to supervise whole classes and carry out set work under teaching staff guidance, managing behaviour under the school's behaviour policy. The post is term-time only, 32.5 hours a week, and includes helping with exam invigilation.

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence
• Implement pre-set work programmes under teaching staff guidance
• Manage student behaviour under the school's behaviour policy
• Help prepare the classroom environment and materials
• Answer student questions about the set work
• Collect completed student assignments
• Supervise students entering and leaving lessons
• Accurately record and report lesson attendance
• Help with exam invigilation
• Report pupil behaviour or issues using referral procedures

• Communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences
• Maintain confidentiality
• Use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office
• Excellent time management and organisation
• Relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner
• Recognise potential child safeguarding issues

• Willingness and ability to obtain or enhance qualifications, training and development

• Experience of working in a school environment
