Staff Nurse – Fidra House Nursing Home, North Berwick

East Lothian, North Berwick
Shift: Day shift 07:45–20:45 (permanent; bank nurse options available)

Provide professional clinical nursing to all residents, support the Home Manager, and maintain high standards of care in line with NMC code of conduct.

• Promote highest standards of nursing care within the home.
• Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Supervise and support junior staff through effective leadership.
• In absence of Home Manager, delegate daily workload, ensuring efficient use of manpower.
• Set a good example in dress, manner, hygiene and behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records and individual care plans as required by company and statutory bodies.

• Ideally 12 months postgraduate experience in elderly care (nursing home, hospital or community). Newly qualified nurses considered.
• Experience working with elderly people with dementia, delivering clinical support.
• Strong time‑management and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to advise and guide internal staff, residents and relatives sensitively.
• Problem‑solving and management of diverse situations within a nursing home context.
• Strong oral and written communication, especially report writing and care planning.

• Competitive pay £23.53 per hour plus overtime at time plus 33% (£31.29 per hour).
