Role Overview

Sodexo Headquarters is seeking a Kitchen Utility Associate to support daily kitchen operations in a high-volume corporate dining environment with global exposure in North Bethesda, Maryland
.

This role ensures the kitchen and service areas operate efficiently, hygienically, and in alignment with company standards for safety, quality, and presentation. The ideal candidate is a dependable, team-oriented professional who can perform both back-of-house cleaning and food preparation tasks in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.

What You ll Do
  • Kitchen Support & Sanitation
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, dish room, and storage areas.
    • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to company and health standards.
    • Assist in waste management, recycling, and inventory rotation to ensure sustainability and compliance.
    • Monitor and restock kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Food Preparation Assistance
    • Support chefs and cooks in basic food prep tasks including washing, cutting, labeling, and portioning ingredients.
    • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
    • Assist with set-up and breakdown of service stations for breakfast, lunch, or catering events.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Adhere to safety and hygiene standards in compliance with local health regulations and corporate policies.
    • Collaborate with culinary team members to ensure timely seamless kitchen flow.
    • Support special functions, global events, and corporate catering as assigned.
  • Team & Culture
    • Exhibit professionalism, time management, and respectful in a diverse and global workplace.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively.
    • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and efficient team environment.

What You Bring
  • Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, corporate dining, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (Serv Safe certification a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks (standing, lifting, bending).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or occasional event hours as needed.
