The purpose of a Kitchen & Laundry Mechanic is to ensure critical food service and hospitality equipment runs safely, efficiently, and continuously by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on complex commercial ovens, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and related mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, thereby preventing costly downtime and disruptions.
Main Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical (motors, wiring), and plumbing (pipes, valves) issues in complex machines like fryers, dishwashers, steam tables, washers, and dryers. - Preventive Maintenance (PM):
Conducting routine inspections, cleaning (filters, grease traps), lubricating, and replacing worn parts (bearings, belts) to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life. - Operational Continuity:
Minimizing downtime for critical appliances and ensuring uninterrupted service. - Safety & Compliance:
Ensuring all equipment meets health, food safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., gas, electrical, fire safety). - Technical Support:
Collaborating with kitchen/laundry staff, documenting repairs, managing parts inventory, and sometimes assisting with installations or renovations. - Customer
Experience:
Demonstrating high customer service standards. - Respond to emergency calls from the building in the complex during non‑regular hours.
- An accredited High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Universal CFC Certification (Preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Two years of similar electrical/mechanical experience.
