We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Technician to support our engineering team in developing precise 2D and 3D models and drawings for mechanical and electrical assemblies. This role involves close collaboration with engineers to transform concepts into manufacturable designs and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of our design process.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts, sketches, ect. into accurate and manufacturable documentation.
- Revise and update drawings in response to engineering changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Organize and maintain CAD files and drawing records using data management systems
. - Assist in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other supporting documentation for production and procurement.
- Participate in design reviews
, offering input to improve manufacturability, serviceability, and cost efficiency. - Provide support for prototype assembly
, including detailed drawings and assistance with fit checks or measurements. - Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry and internal standards
. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing workflow and design quality within the Engineering Department.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software.
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, or similar.
- Familiarity with ERP systems
, including BOM and work order creation. - Strong attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement in design quality and documentation standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
. - Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Understanding of electromechanical systems
.
