Early Childhood Assistant Teacher – North Canton Child Development Center

Join the team as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher at YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio).

We are seeking a professional role model for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The role includes leading by example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors, creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision.

• Flexible shifts between 6:30 am–6:30 pm Monday through Friday
• Assist in implementing curriculum within established guidelines
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of daily lesson/activity plans
• Supervise children, classroom, and all activities
• Conduct ongoing, systematic observations of each child
• Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents
• Maintain program site and equipment
• Maintain required program records
• Maintain training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Awareness, plus 10 hours of Ohio‑Approved training per year (trainings provided by YMCA and affiliates)
• Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training

• At least 18 years old
• High‑school diploma
• Ability to be on feet for 3–5 hours at a time leading and participating in activities

• Previous experience in an infant/toddler setting

$12.30 /hr. Part‑time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs.
