This position is based at our North Canton, OH location.
Responsibilities- Maintain an understanding of basic electrical theory
- Perform trouble-shooting to identify and resolve wiring and component application problems in switch gear equipment
- Perform Dielectric (HiPot) Testing, CT Verification, and Transformer Testing on equipment ranging from 5 – 38 KVAC and up to 1600 VDC
- Travel locally and long distance
- Lead equipment testing and supervise other technicians
- Plan and schedule project testing activities from beginning to end
- Perform all duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management
The Field Service Technician is responsible for understanding and working towards company goals and objectives as well as actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
Qualifications- Two year technical degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience required
- Familiarity with switch gear applications
- Understanding of basic electrical theory
- Knowledge of test requirements defined per ANSI C37.20
- Familiarity with control systems verification and troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics
- Possession of the trouble-shooting skills needed to identify and resolve wiring and component application problems in switch gear equipment
- Ability to operate various types of electrical testing equipment
- Experience testing in a power substation environment is a plus
