The Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through drug distribution, clinical services, and education.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains competency and accuracy in the unique aspects of drug therapy for the patients for which they provide care
- Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness of use, dose, dosage form, route, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplication
- Provide drug information to health care professionals
- Check accuracy of orders entered and packaged by technicians
- Review and check medication orders for IV admixtures, TPN’s, and insure proper technique and accuracy of preparation
- Review orders for possible therapeutic problems, contraindications, allergies, and cost containment
- Responsible for the accurate filling, dispensing, and distribution of medication orders
- Participate in continuing education programs
- Participate in a variety of areas within the pharmacy as determined by workload
- Responsible for the supervision of technicians and leads by example as a manager
- Other duties as assigned

SPECIALDEMANDS
- Must be concise and accurate in work preparation as errors may have serious consequences
- Must be understanding, patient and have tact in dealing with others
- Must work within a set period of time to meet specific deadlines. Must possess strong organizational skills
- Must graduate from an accredited pharmacy program
- Must be a licensed pharmacist with the state of Ohio and maintain that license in good standing
- Prior experience as a pharmacist is preferred but not required
- Specific knowledge of this job is not required
- Appropriate business attire and professional appearance will be maintained at all times
- Work area will be a well-lit, ventilated work space. Proper working space will be made available. The required tools such as desk telephone, computer, printer, copier and fax access, etc. will be provided for the job position as needed.
