Surface Grinder Machinist at Stolle Machinery Company LLC

Safely and effectively set up and operate Surface Grinders, manufacturing precision hardware from blueprints.

1st and 2nd shifts available.

Reports To:

Manufacturing Supervisor

• Complete all setups and efficiently run moderate to very complex parts on Surface Grinders following detailed setup instructions.
• Consistently meet critical engineering specifications as shown on engineering prints.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Identify process improvements and incorporate necessary changes.
• Develop well documented setup sheets and related documentation for efficient manufacturing of parts.
• Communicate with manufacturing management staff and machinists for shift changeover and process requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines (e.g., grease, oil, coolant, filters).

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience setting up and operating Surface Grinders, grinding various types of materials.
• Honing experience a plus.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong communication skills; capable of working from verbal and/or written instructions with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work in conjunction with EHS personnel to ensure safety.

• Capable of occasionally lifting 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and climbing stairs.
• Required use of PPE (eye protection, hearing protection, hand and foot protection, etc.).
• Work with or around oils, coolants, and other machine shop chemicals.
• Must speak English and work in a team environment.
