SRO Officer PART-TIME

Overview

Part-Time SRO – Daytime Assignment (Part-Time). Assigned to St. Paul Catholic School. No nights. No weekends. No holidays. Summers off.

This is a City position providing law enforcement services in a school setting. The SRO serves as a visible safety presence, supports emergency preparedness, and builds professional relationships with students and staff in coordination with school administration and City leadership.

• Part-time, daytime schedule during the school year
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or summer work
• Maximum pay rate: $30.34 per hour
• Annual uniform allowance
• City-issued equipment
• Paid training

• Maintain a consistent law enforcement presence during school hours
• Promote a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors
• Assist with emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response
• Address safety concerns and incidents in coordination with school administration and City supervision
• Foster positive, age-appropriate interactions with students
• Enforce applicable laws, policies, and City procedures

• Current OPOTA certification, or the ability to recertify (required)
• Prior law enforcement experience
• Ability to work effectively in a school environment
• Strong communication skills and sound judgment
• Professional demeanor and commitment to community-oriented policing
