Sitting at the heart of how a multi-billion-dollar manufacturer measures and manages the true cost of building its products, this is a role with real influence over the numbers that matter.

As Manager, Cost Accounting, you'll run the day-to-day standard costing and inventory accounting for the company's U.S. operations, while also partnering on BOM work that reaches into Mexico and Canada. You'll own the yearly standard cost roll from start to finish — pulling labor routing figures from engineering, raw material pricing from sourcing, and building overhead rates alongside Operations Finance — then pushing those costs live across every U.S. plant.

On a daily basis, that translates into guiding a team through month-end close, digging into variances, reconciling inventory, and taking on cross-functional projects tied to new product launches and system upgrades. You'll report to a Senior Manager of Cost Accounting and get genuine visibility with the Group Controller.

The way the hiring manager sees it, Cost Accounting here is genuine costing work — both item standard costs and journal entries, not a choice between the two. She's interviewed plenty of candidates who've only ever handled one half of that picture. This team touches every launch, every cost roll, and every moment when a figure has to stand up to scrutiny.

It moves quickly, there's always a fresh challenge on the list, and the folks who do well here are the ones energized by that — trading the long hours of public accounting for real variety and momentum.

You'd report to the Group Controller who oversees cost, financial reporting, BOM, and payroll accounting. She's straightforward, honest, and knows cost accounting cold. What she's after is someone she can truly hand the reins to — not a person she has to hover over.

You'll lead a group of staff and senior accountants inside Cost Accounting. The person who lands this will take genuine ownership of that team, which lets the Sr. Cost Accounting Manager focus on designing solutions and collaborating across other functions company-wide.

You'll be working inside a big, matrixed organization where cross-functional collaboration happens constantly. People who tend to be very reserved or like keeping to themselves haven't fared well here historically. This manager has to show up in conversations with New Product Development, Sourcing, and Operations Finance — building rapport while still standing firm when a business call doesn't add up financially.
