Administrative Patient Representative

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States as an Administrative Patient Representative. This role ensures smooth patient flow through outpatient clinics by managing scheduling, billing, and medical records with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Register patients promptly and collect accurate information.

- Schedule appointments for initial visits, follow-ups, and procedures, ensuring proper allocation of provider time.

- Maintain and update patient medical records, including entry of ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for billing and documentation.

- Collect payments, document receipts, and prepare daily cash reports.

- Order and schedule outside tests as requested by providers.

- Transcribe non-medical dictation and submit billing invoices daily under supervision.

- File, fax, and mail reports and records; compile monthly reports timely.

- Assist with supply inventory tracking and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.

- Serve as receptionist, greeting patients and answering phones in a professional manner.

- Support non-invasive medical procedures or act as a security observer when required.

- Direct emergency messages and assist administrative/medical staff as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Business-related coursework is preferred.

Experience

1-2 years of clerical experience, preferably in a medical business office or a role involving significant public contact.

Skills and Abilities

- Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT-4 coding preferred.

- Proficient PC skills and typing speed of 45-55 words per minute.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle patients under stress with tact.

- Good verbal communication and auditory skills.

- Physical ability to see printed data, use manual dexterity, and perform light physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
